perfect 12
it seems this blog so far has been pretty much all about my taste in music, well it was never meant to be like that, but i dont really have alot else going on in my life at the moment than listening to music all day long. so im going to try post about bodyboarding or something mega cool like that. so heres my last music post for a while
12 records i wouldnt change a thing about. to me they sound perfect and the band has nailed it. pretty much these are the cds i can listen to the whole way through without skipping a song. im sure ive missed out heeps but these have what come to mind at the moment and will probs be a complete different list in a few years time. mainly punk/hardcore/metal..(cause thats all i tent to listen to) write a comment if you think i suck for any of these choices.

american nightmare
this morning i woke up, had a shower, shaved, got dressed, then put on a cd called background music by a band called american nightmare. its 9.24pm now and i am still listening to the same band.
i havent allways been into this band, the first time i heard of them they were called give up the ghost (which is kinda of backwards concidering they were american nightmare first), i was reading some music mag and saw an ad for their new record "We're Down Til We're Underground". it had a love heart made from little little bits of candy, i guess it kind of put me off checking them out, cause i thought it looked pretty gay haha (now i love it) so i sat on it for a while.
the funny thing is, i think myspace actually got me into them, from lurking peoples pages and seing american nightmare or give up the ghost in their music section. so i got on soulseek and downloaded "background music". by the third song "am/pm" i remember thinking "fuck this band is pretty fucking cool". by the final song "farewell" i was pretty much sold on american nightmare and was starting to understand why so many people rate this band so high.
i do not collect records at all, but the only record i do own is a reprint of "the ice age is coming", the first demo they put out in 2000, clearly i wasnt into them then, so i thought it would be the 2nd best to the real thing, even tho i think its the 4th re pressing of it haha. i wish i had an awesome collection of their merch, but thats kinda impossible aswell, i think horsnell has the best collection i know of haha. i allways look it up on ebay and tshirts going for $75us and hoodies for $130us.. well fuck me, and i dont think i would wear a give up the ghost tshirt cause it just wouldnt be the same. ouch
every youtube i find of them allways fails wes to complete a whole song.. like usally its because he allways getting tackled by crazed out kids or he just loses hes shit and one arm moshes around. but eather way they seemed to kill it live. like in this clip of the protest song , the crowd is singing along so loud, its fucking awesome.
The singer Wes Eisolds lyrics have proberly had the biggest effect on me than any other artist/writer ive ever came across. at times i have no idea how to relate to what hes yelling at me through the speakers, but then theres times i know exactly what he means. the idea to publish deathbeds was a great one i think. it fetured pretty much everything wes had writting to date, lyrics, poems and a few diary entrys. tho i think the book is great, i would love to read a whole book of diary entrys by the man. but the fact there was only 1000 published and now copys are on ebay for $100us plus kinda blows my mind, i dont think i will ever sell my copy.
so yeha they broke up and moved onto different things, i never really got into some girls to much, like i dont mind them but they just dont do the same thing american nightmare does for me. i wish i liked xo skeletons but i just dont like that type of music, id rather read those xo skeleton lyrics on a piece of paper than listen to that haha and the fact nicky money of horror show is in it aswell sucks aswell cause i fucking loved horror show :(

passion fruit yogurt
How the hell did i go so long without checking out interpol, i had heard they were a great band but it was usally from wanky dudes who think their musical knowledge is next level to anyone elses.. so i just kinda brushed them aside and thought they were another standard band ppl raved about. i feel kinda stupied for letting it slide that long, dinosaur jr is another one.
kinda had the same experience with yogurt, i thought i wouldn't like it when i was younger, so i just never ate it.. last year when i was waking up to huge amounts of different flavors every morning, i just had to try it. now i cant get enough of the shit.
but i guess you cant try every food and listen to every band, there is always going to be new wonderful and great things popping up all the time... even if you think you wouldn't like it.
also im not turning into a "indie rock" dude or taking up smoking now.

waves and fall..
Today was the first decent full day ive put into bodyboarding in nealy 8 months, im kinda frothing on waves i got today and they were nothing special compared to recent times, but fuccck yeaaah. clearly doing a air reverse and landing feet first onto my ass was the highlight, felt like i had been raped and spanked a few times. but fluidzone is dead, so bodyboarding must be aswell.. right?
Not going to hawaii this year, has just made me want to travel even more. so im going to actually book an around the world ticket in the next few weeks and not just talk about it, so many bands i want to see, so many waves i want to surf and so many places i want to party. yeaah
plus the chance of seeing this band makes it worth while i recon..
RIP EM OUT!! *GUITAR SOLO* YEAH MUTHER FUCKER!

Turning 21!
Well tomorrow i turn 21, i dont really know why this birthday is made a big deal about compared to any other age. its werid. but whatever. i dont really have much to do tomorrow cept sleep in and lurk the internet for another day, kinda sucks.
but i was thinking about how ive spent my last few birthdays.
last year i woke up early, went picked a friend up and went down south surfing, it wasnt til i got to my friends house in margaret river and him saying happy birthday to me that i rememberd it was my birthday haha, so not really a big deal.
when i turned 19 i think it was a few days after i got home from my first time in hawaii, i went out in bunbury with my friends, i think i had like $40 to spend but it was cool to see everyone after being away for a month.
my 18th i remember lining up outside of exit waiting til midnight so i could go in, i dont think i was even that drunk. kinda lame concidering we had a keg earyler in the day.
turning 17 was clearly crazy, a friend had giving me a bottle of jim beam as a present. it was a saturday night and i had to work at big w doing nightfil, it was a 4 hour shift but i was alowed to leave at 9 (fucking stoked!) so i went to fucking tiltmans house with this bottle of beam and a 2 liter coke, pretty much got stuck into it and ended up being an eventful night, i kept dropping my pants infront of girls and i pissed on a girl when she told me to go to the toilet insted of pissing on the road. apprently later on i went missing and was found sleeping on my friends front lawn a kms away. shits whack..
hopefully this birthday has some cool stuff happen along with a raging party.

home on a saturday night
so im trying not to go out in bunbury anymore on friday or sat nights, its lame and boring. but on tv now is STAR WARS, and i have never ever watched one star wars movie. there is all these little fury critters running around the forrest, i think they are called wookies or something, but i seen chewbaca.. he seems to be cool. there is alot of other werid cretures, i had no idea it was this whacked out. shizzzztz weaak!
